Charles Hubbard Collection
Charles D. Hubbard (1876-1951) of Guilford was an American Impressionist painter, as well as portrait artist, illustrator, teacher, photographer and author. His place in American art history has been largely forgotten, but his legacy is kept alive in parts of Connecticut, where he was one of Guilford’s best loved citizens.
This collection features photographs taken roughly between 1900 and 1925. The original 4” x 5” glass plate negatives were donated to the GKS by Shelton Dudley and by Sandy Sanzero.
